A custom synthesis inquiry is easier to assess when the target and the expected deliverable are clear. The initial goal is to define the project for feasibility review. Sending a request does not mean a route, schedule or specification has already been accepted.
Define the target molecule
Provide a clear structure, a searchable name or identifier if available, and a SMILES or suitable structure file when useful. Identify the required stereochemistry, salt form and any ambiguity in the drawing. If you are asking about a catalog material, include its CAS so that a supply inquiry can be distinguished from a new synthesis project.
Describe the deliverable
State the initial quantity, required purity and the form of material you need. Separate the current project from possible scale-up quantities. Include any document or analytical acceptance criteria that are necessary for evaluating the deliverable. If you have not selected a method, describe the qualification question rather than assuming all testing is standard.
Share useful background
If available and appropriate to share, provide reference literature, an existing route outline, known constraints or previous analytical observations. Identify what is established and what remains an assumption. If information is confidential, discuss the confidentiality arrangements before sending sensitive details; do not assume that a public website form itself establishes an NDA.
Make the schedule reviewable
Give the delivery country and target date, and explain any dependency such as screening, qualification or a decision on a later stage. A target date is an input to feasibility review. Timing, route scope and supply commitments need to be confirmed in the agreed proposal.

Clarify the next decision
Ask whether the first step is an information review, an assessment of feasibility or preparation of a scoped proposal. Before work is agreed, confirm the deliverables, analytical scope, schedule assumptions and commercial terms that apply to your request.
See our custom synthesis service and send your target and requirements. For a near-term catalog purchase, the stock list and chemical RFQ checklist may be a better starting point.
